Zurich (ZRH) airport, approximately a 3.5-hour drive or train ride, is the largest airport in Switzerland offering direct flights from most European hubs, including lower-cost carrier EasyJet. There are direct flights from the US including New York (EWR), Chicago (ORD), Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), Philadelphia (PHL), San Francsico (SFO) and Washington Dulles (IAD).

By Car or Rental Car
Switzerland maintains some of the best and most scenic roads in Europe. During wintertime, roads are kept clean of snow including the last stretch driving up into the mountains.
Make sure to have Swiss Motorway Vignette which can be purchased online, at the border or at gas stations.
For rental cars, when picking up from Geneva Airport, make sure to reserve your car on the Swiss side versus the French side. When booking a car in Italy, or any other country outside of Switzerland, inform if the car is allowed to cross the border and you will likely also need to buy a vignette.
